The MCCEE is a four-hour computer-based exam that assesses your basic medical knowledge and readiness to enter your first year of supervised postgraduate training in Canada. It includes 180 multiple-choice questions covering:

– Population health and ethics

Who is eligible?

You must take the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination (MCCEE) if you want to practise medicine in Canada and have graduated or are within 20 months of graduating from:

  • – A medical school outside Canada or the U.S. identified by a Canada Sponsor Note in the World Directory of Medical Schools; or
  • – A U.S. School of Osteopathic Medicine
